Westfield Center Sky Terrace

westfield rooftop
Perched atop the bustling Westfield Mall, this large rooftop area is tricky to access. It's impossible to get there from the mall itself – you have to enter through the street-level doorway that says 835 Market St, and take the only elevator out of four that will bring you up to this 9th floor rooftop. Once there though, you'll enjoy a gorgeous, serene escape from the bustling mess of pop culture that is the Westfield Mall.
The space features a unique perspective of the city, including views of City Hall and Potrero Hill. As it is usually empty, there are always ample benches, tables and chairs and potted plants for you to enjoy. But the centerpiece of this rooftop escape is the majestic, 100-foot wide glass-and-steel Emporium Dome (built in 1908), smack dab in front of your face. Seeing it from the outside is an experience to be treasured, and makes this one of the city's very best hidden public spaces.
Location: 835 Market St, San Francisco, CA
